Toyota is among the largest automobile producers in the world if not the largest. The 2017 Toyota Fortuner has many subsidiaries which exercise a great deal of independence even coming up with their own models that later attract the attention of other markets in the world. The Fortuner is one example of such a model. This model is the brainchild of the Toyota Motor Thailand. It has since attracted attention from all corners of the globe led by the SUV-hungry American market. After making subtle upgrades on the first generation model for a number of years, Toyota decided to introduce the second generation of the SUV for the 2017 model year. The first generation was very successful and the automaker hopes the new generation will do even better. The new upgrades have resulted in an attractive look for this edgy SUV. Read along for more information.
2017 Toyota Fortuner Exterior
The 2017 Toyota Fortuner aggressive design makes the model very attractive. The automaker has revised most of its exterior features. To start with, the front features an aggressive-looking grille that is surrounded by sleek headlights. The fog lights, however, look basic and take a rounded shape. Overall, the front fascia looks sporty, a common trend we have seen being adopted by many SUVs. The side profile has been modified to make the model look taller than the outgoing Toyota Fortuner.
At the rear, the taillights also look sleek and feature the same design as the headlights. The model’s rear spoiler is well positioned and makes the model look larger than it is actually. The taillights also feature aero fins to improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
2WD models will ride on 17-inch wheels while 4WD models get 18-inch wheels wrapped in quality rubber.
2017 Toyota Fortuner Interior
The interior of the model has also been revised for an up-market feel. The quality of the outgoing model’s interior was not very bad; however, the general layout and materials used was not very appealing. The new steering wheel has been revised for extra grip. Leather is the standard upholstery material on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels. The instrument cluster features twin dials. On the other hand, the center console comes with a huge touch-screen. The console also features AC controls, a shift on the go system for AWD models and air vents.
The model also features a reverse camera, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity and bi-beam headlights.
The cabin is very spacious offering all passengers plenty of space for a comfortable ride even during long distances. The vehicle accommodates 7 passengers but the third row is only ideal for children. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable. Compared to its rivals, the model offers poor cargo space but it can be expanded by folding the third row and even the second-row seats.
For safety, the SUV features a host of systems such as ABS, hill assist control, stability control, descent assist control as well as a package of 7 airbags.
