The Rav4 is one of the most impressive compact SUVs out there. In recent years, the RAV4 lineup has diversified far and wide to an extent that there is no exclusivity with the model any more. However, Toyota has changed all that with a specially upgraded variant of the model dubbed the “Adventure”. As the name suggests, this model is for individuals who love going for one adventure after the other. The 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure aims to improve its utility, offer more practicability as well as an all-weather capability that enables adventurers to reach their adventure spots with ease. 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure Exterior
Toyota has given the new Rav4 Adventure a unique look that enables it to stand out from the sea of other Rav4s. At the front, the vehicle sports dark headlight bezels as well as dark fog lights surrounds. The hood on the other hand has a long matte-black stripe. The model also features roof racks as standard. The body features the Adventure special edition badges to tell the world that this is not a regular RAV4.
The Rav4 rides on a set of 5-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels that are finished in a black trim. The wheels are wrapped with 235/55R18 wheels. The new crossover trim also features body protection pieces on the outer edges. The Rav4 Adventure will be available in five exterior colors to choose from. The colors are Silver Sky Metallic, Black, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Super White and the new Ruby Flare Pearl.

The automaker has also strived to make the cabin of the 2018 Toyota Rav4 Adventure more “adventurous”. The model features exclusive pieces such as a 120-Volt/100-watt power socket on the cargo area for charging various gadgets when you are on the wild. It also features a leather-wrapped shifter. Other features include Adventure-badged all-weather floor mats and similarly badged doorsill kick plates.
Buyers can opt for heated, fabric front seats, a heated steering wheel as well as a wiper de-icer. These features are available on the optional Cold Weather Package.
The Model also features the automakers Safety Sense-P system as a standard feature. The system features a dynamic radar cruise control system, high-beam headlights, pre-collision mitigation system that integrates a pedestrian detection and blind spot monitoring. In addition, the model features hill-start assist and trailer-sway control as standard features.
Engine Specs and performance
The engine of the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure uses the same 2.5 L, inline-4 engine like the regular RAV 4 models. This engine produces 176 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the wheels through a 6-speed electronically controlled intelligent automatic gearbox.
The Rav4 Adventure is available in either FWD as standard or with the optional AWD. FWD features an Automatic Limited-Slip Differential. The AWD system features a Dynamic Torque Control system. All models have an option for a Tow Prep package that features a higher ride height, extra transmission fluid and oil coolers and a revised radiator.
Price and release date
During the model’s exhibit at the concluded Chicago Auto show, Toyota did not disclose the model’s prices. However, the automaker confirmed that the 2018 Toyota Rav4 Adventure would hit dealerships in September alongside the 2018 Tundra TRD Sport and Sequoia TRD Sport. The price of the model will not go up significantly compared to the regular models considering the changes are largely visual.
