2016 Lexus LX 570

Following weeks of social media leaks which built much anticipation in many fans worldwide, the automaker decided to debut the 2016 Lexus LX 570 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Japanese auto maker has done a comprehensive makeover from the engine to the interior and the exterior. The new vehicle will feature a powerful engine and an attractive look as well as a comfortable cabin. The 2016 Lexus LX 570 will be offered in a single but well equipped trim.

2016 Lexus LS 570 Exterior

The new Lexus LX exterior look has borrowed much from the Toyota Land Cruiser and is boxier in shape compared to all its predecessors. The vehicle is built on a strong body-on-frame structure that offers great off-road capabilities if a driver decides to veer off the road.

To start with, the vehicle has received two exterior color additions; these are Nightfall Mica and Atomic Silver. They join current colors which include Satin Cashmere Metallic, Starfire Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl and Black Onyx. The front fascia features Lexus’s unique single piece spindle grille which is integrated with LED headlamps as well as day time running lights on both sides. The lower part of the fascia is hooked up with angular fog lights which complement the front look.

The rear fascia has been completely redesigned; it features L-shaped horizontal LED tail lamps. Its liftgate is unchanged from the 2015 model;  its top section opens up like that of a regular SUV while the bottom section folds down like that of a pickup. The vehicle will ride on 20-inch wheels as standard with an option for 21-inch wheels.


2016 Lexus LX 570 Interior

Sliding inside you will be welcomed with an interior carefully styled with premium convenience, safety and connectivity features. Its interior will accommodate 8 passengers comfortably spread over its three row seating arrangement. The front and second row passengers will enjoy heated and ventilated seats. While the second row has plenty of leg room, the third row is a bit narrow. The third row seats fold to the sides of the cargo area to offer more cargo space if need be.

Most fans will be drawn to the new 12.3 inch display which has been placed at the center of the instruments cluster. It is controlled by a remote-touch interface placed on the center console. The gauge cluster has also been modified to 4.2 inches with multi-information display. Rear passengers will enjoy 11.6 inch screens which have replaced the previous 7-inch screens on the current model.

For safety purposes, the vehicle comes with the Lexus Safety System as standard. This system features pre-collision warning, pedestrian detection, intelligent high beam assist, lane departure alert and a dynamic radar cruise control system. Other features include a panoramic camera and rear cross traffic alert which come in handy when maneuvering in tight spaces and crowded parking lots. There is also a head-up display feature which will be optional.


Engine, Specs and Performance

The powertrain comes unchanged from the previous model.  The unit is a 5.7 L V 8 engine which produces 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque. However, the previous 6-speed automatic transmission system has been replaced by an 8 –speed one. The new 2016 Lexus LX 570 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of around 133 mph.

It is offered in 4WD as standard. It has an improved towing capacity of 7,000 pounds. It comes with adjustable drive modes. These modes are Eco which maximizes the vehicles fuel economy, Sport and Sport+ which firms up the vehicles suspension and steering. EPA fuel economy ratings are yet to be released, but precursor had an average fuel consumption of 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. Price and Release Date

The vehicle is set to hit the markets in December 2015 and will have a starting price of around $ 83,000. With additional features attracting a higher price.


It major competitors will be Cadillac Escalade and the Land Rover Range Rover.
