2016 Lexus NX 300h

The Lexus NX is fairly a brand new line in the Lexus fold. Having been launched recently in 2014 as a 2015 model, the car is fairly new to the market. Therefore, the new 2016 NX 300h is luxury crossover, the sister to the turbocharged 2016 NX 200t will largely come unchanged from the previous model, it will only feature a few touches here and there.


2016 Lexus NX 300h Exterior

The exterior is similar to its turbocharged counterpart. It is explicitly stylish and energetic. The front grille made from nylon is exceptionally stylish. The vehicle measures 182.3-inches long, 73.6-inches wide and 64.8-inches tall with a wheelbase of 104.7 inches. The five-door crossover features keyless access.

The body has a number of curves that give the vehicle an athletic look. At the front is the spindle grille which has become a common feature on almost all Lexus vehicles. The vehicle has a new aluminum hood. Slim, L-shaped LED lights flank the grille on both sides. The side features LED illuminated door handles and heated and power operated side mirrors.


The rear features curved pillars and an arc-shaped spoiler which increase the cargo space and headroom for rear passengers. It stands on 17-inch or 18 –inch 10-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped in 225/60R18 all-season tires.

2016 Lexus NX 300h Interior

Just like the exterior, the interior is excellently styled to offer maximum comfort and convenience. The crossover will accommodate five passengers on its comfortable seats covered in quality leather. The rear seats feature a 60/40 reclining functionality while at the front there is a 10-way power driver’s seat that also features lumbar support as well as an 8-way power passenger’s seat.

Its door locks and windows are power operated. For entertainment, the vehicle features an 8-speaker audio system integrated with HD radio. Modern tech’ features include USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, Smartphone integration and Wi-Fi among others. There is a 7-inch touch-screen at the dashboard as well as a privacy grass at the rear.


To improve the vehicle’s safety, the automaker has hooked up the car with a package of enhanced airbags (8 in total),traction and stability control, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, back-up camera, electronic brake force distribution and a 4-channel ABS.

Engine Specs and Performance

Under the hood of the 2016 Lexus NX 300h is a hybrid power-train. It features a 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine which is paired with an electric motor. The 2.5 L engine produces 155 hp and bumps up the power to 194 hp when paired with the electric motors. The drive-train is paired with a CVT system and is offered in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive modes.

The 2016 Lexus NX 300h has EPA fuel economy rating of 35 mpg, 32 mpg and 33 mpg for city, highway and combined drives respectively. With these numbers, the vehicle is about 5 mpg more fuel efficient than its turbocharged sister the Lexus NX 200t. The engine accelerates from 0-60 mph in 9.1 seconds and reaches a track top speed of 112 mph.


Price and release date

The official price for a 2016 Lexus NX 300h was recently published, the model paired with a front-wheel drive mode will cost $ 39,720 (MSRP) while the all-wheel-drive model will cost $ 41,310. Lexus has not released the official  arrival date for this hybrid vehicle, but according to rumors, the vehicle will arrive in time for Christmas before the end of year.



The model has been improved and will give the likes of Mercedes GLE-class, BMW X5 and Audi Q7 a run for their money.
