The vehicle will run on 18-inch alloy wheels. For those who prefer camping or have a need for trailer towing, Maximum Towing Capacity is among the largest in its class 8200 lbs.


2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Interior

The interior of Toyota Land Cruiser 2016 will accommodate 8 passengers comfortably spread through its three –row seating arrangement and still leave plenty of cargo space. The rear seats can also be folded to increase cargo space. The interior will feature a perforated leather trim, heated and ventilated front seats, keyless entry, a push-button ignition, a heated telescoping steering wheel, a power moonroof as well as a 4-zone automatic climate control.

For entertainment, the SUV will feature Toyota’s Entune 2.5 multimedia system with Siri Eyes Free mode. The center stack will have a 9-inch display while second row passengers get 10-inch screens for their entertainment. The vehicle will also have wireless phone charging options.


For safety, it comes equipped with a collision mitigation system, the new Toyota Safety Sense-P system that offers lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and front crash mitigation at speeds of less than 25 mph. It will also have a backup camera, cross-traffic alert and blind spot monitoring.

To enhance its exceptional off-road capabilities, the Land Cruiser will feature active traction control, hill-start assist, downhill assist, vehicle stability control, crawl control, multi-terrain select, an active TORSEN limited-slip locking differential and all wheel drive mode. These features will enable it to conquer less-travelled terrains with ease.


Engine, Specs and Performance

Under the hood, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will feature a 5.7 l V8 DOHC engine. It will deliver an output of 381 hp with 401 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission system that replaces the 6-speed automatic transmission system. Exhaust system of this powerful engine is made entirely of stainless steel.

Toyota has said that the new transmission system will result in a better acceleration and fuel economy. The redesigned Land Cruiser accelerates from 0-60 mph in about 6.5 seconds, which is for the vehicle its mass excellent result, the maximum speed is about 130 mph. Fuel economy figures have been estimated at 13/18/15 mpg for city/highway/combined.

2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel will first be available on  Australian market and then possibly to other markets, it is a 4.5-liter V8 twin-turbocharged diesel engine with 268 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.


Release date and price

Official information on the new 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser release date or price is still not known. However, according to rumors going around, the model will cost around $ 80,000.  For the release date, we expect the auto maker to release the car in the last quarter of 2015.


The land cruiser is an elite class SUV and will compete with other SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, Lexus LX 570, Cadillac Escalade and Land Rover LR4.
