The car will have a redesigned front end that has been fitted with new LED headlights which will be standard for all trims. However, the most visible feature is the new hexagonal grille which features a piano-black finish. On the rear end, the vehicle also gets LED taillights which feature integrated light pipes. The top trim level (Four) comes with LED fog lights.

The new Toyota Prius c will come with the following features as standard. It will have climate control, a multifunctional steering wheel, a 3.5 inch color information screen and a 6.1 inch touch screen audio system that provides USB connectivity and streaming audio via Bluetooth.
The vehicle will accommodate five adult passengers. The Two and Three trims will offer two-tone fabric covered seats. Three and Four trim levels will get a navigation system and the auto maker’s Entune App Suite. This app allows passengers to operate apps such as Yelp and Pandora via the cars controls upon connecting a Smartphone. It will also have a temperature control button located at the drivers left knee.
It comes with 17 different storage locations but the back seat will only feature a single cup holder. The back seats can also be folded to create additional cargo space. The boot has an area to hold a 15-inch spare wheel. Tall occupants will find the vehicle uncomfortable as it has a low roof sill and a swept roofline.
Engine, Specs and Performance
According to reports, the 2016 Toyota Prius c will come with the same engine as the predecessor model. The unit is a 1.5 L 4-Cyl. engine with 73 hp and 82 lb-ft of torque. However, the Toyota has integrated new electric motors. These motors will be smaller but more powerful than the current model’s and will have 60 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor will be powered by energy from the Nickel-Metal Hybride (Ni-MH) battery, some quarters even indicate the manufacturer might decide to go with lithium-ion packed batteries to increase its range.
The electric motor is ideal for short drives at low speed, the 73 hp petrol engine comes live for long drives at high speeds. The new 2016 Toyota Prius C will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 11.7 seconds, but from this car nobody expected to be a top sprinter. The updates will improve the Hybrid engine fuel economy to deliver at least 55 mpg.
Price and release date
The auto maker is still tight lipped about the price and release date of this hybrid city car. However, our insider sources reveal that Toyota will showcase the car before the end of this year (2015) and sales will commence early in 2016.
The sources also indicate that the price will increase slightly from the current model. The 2016 Toyota Prius C will have a starting MSRP price of around $ 23,000 for the base trim level.
