If there is an automaker that has spread their wings far and wide, it is Toyota. One of their models that’s famous worldwide is the Toyota Corolla.
Toyota Corolla was launched in 1966 and it took time before it became a favorite among the masses. In 1997 the sedan was so popular that it overtook the Volkswagen Beetle. Its success has been achieved through numerous redesigns and improvements to make it the car it is today. It has risen to become one of the best compact cars with a sporty look in the world. Back in 2014 at the Detroit auto show, The Toyota introduced the concept Furia, who should be the new 2017 Corolla.
Its designers have been able to achieve a good mix of elegance convenience, efficiency all at a fair price. The model will be offered in four trim levels which are; L, LE, S and LE Eco.
2017 Toyota Corolla Exterior
The exterior design of the 2017 Toyota Corolla has been made to look sportier so as to attract more customers. The body structure has been constructed using light weight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum which translate to a better performance and fuel economy.
The front fascia features a round-shaped grille, lower intakes, a redesigned bumper and new headlights featuring advanced LED lighting technology. The vehicle is also fitted with fog lights.
The sedan rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are be painted black and glossy. The wheels feature a sporty design which is meant to complement the overall body design.
2017 Toyota Corolla Interior
The sporty look continues into the cabin. The cabin is larger and more elegant than the outgoing model which means the new vehicle has a larger passenger and cargo space. The cabin accommodates five passengers on five cozy seats upholstered in a quality cloth in low trims and leather in higher trims.
The driver and front passenger seats are heated. Expect the latest technological features to make their way into the cabin, they will include a dual-zone climate control, a rear view camera, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity, a 6.2 –inch touch-screen and Smartphone integration to name just but a few.
The vehicle will also feature a host of safety features and driver aids such as stability and traction control, ABS, brake power distribution and brake assistance in addition to bolstered seatbelts and enhanced airbags.
Under the hood, the 2017 Toyota Corolla will feature a single drive-train. It will feature the same 1.8 L, 4-cylinder engine but its output will depend on the trim chosen.
For the L, LE and S trims, the engine is tuned to produce 132 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the LE Eco trim is tweaked to produce 140 hp and 126 lb-ft of torque courtesy of an Eco got valvematic technology.
In terms of transmission, the engine comes with a number of options, these are; a four-speed automatic system, a CVT system and a 6-speed manual gearbox. Details about its top speed, acceleration and fuel economy are yet to be released so keep checking this page for more updates.
Price and release date
The 2017 Toyota Corolla is eagerly awaited by the masses. We anticipate the vehicle to enter the market in the third quarter of 2016.
The price is still being kept as a secret by the Japanese automaker but according to rumors going around, the base trim will start at around MSRP $ 19,000 while the top trim will fetch as much as $ 28,000.
